When you sign your child up to start at First Steps Nursery we take a deposit to hold their place. The deposit is two times your weekly price. We retain your deposit while your child is in nursery and is taken off your final fees when you give 4 full weeks’ notice to leave the nursery. Nursery
fees must be paid in advance in your child’s first day in nursery each week. Fees can be paid by standing order, tax free childcare scheme or child scheme vouchers.

Extra hour: £10.00
Prices are fully inclusive of the opening hours/session times. It also includes nappies, wipes and a variety of creams. The price also includes breakfast (up to 8:15am), mid morning snack, hot home cooked meal for lunch, hot home cooked meal for tea and an afternoon snack.
All children receive government funding the school term after they turn 3 years old receiving 15 hours or 30 hours free nursery funding.
If your child’s birthday fall between:

1 st September – 31 st December your child will be eligible from the Spring Term starting in January.

1 st January –31 st March your child will be eligible from the Summer Term starting in April.

1 st April – 31 st August your child will be eligible from the Autumn Term starting in September.
2 Year Old Funding
If your child is entitled to 2 year funding (15 free hours) we can offer a term time only place or an all year around place. Please contact the nursery to discuss prices.

3 Year Old Funding
All children the school term after they turn 3 years old (January, April, September) are entitled to 15 free hours for 38 weeks. Some children are entitled to 30 hours free. We offer both term time only places and all year around places. Please contact the nursery to
discuss sessions available and prices.

Tax Free Childcare
Tax free childcare is available to all working parents who are not in receipt of universal credit, tax credits or childcare vouchers. For every £8 you pay into an online account, the government will add an extra £2, up to £2,000 per child per year.

Term Time Only Funded places
Term Time only places – available at First Steps Nursery from when a child can access 2 year funding and above. Term Time only places are completely free with no hidden charges/consumables. They also include free hot meals for the children and a snack. Term time places do not include breakfast. Nursery nappies are included free. They are available for 38 weeks a year only. Term dates are selected by nursery and whilst we take into consideration local school term dates they may differ slightly.
15 hours
Term Time only places using 15 hours can be accessed using 3 mornings (7.45am -12.45pm) or 3 afternoons (1pm – 6pm). We also have limited 1 full day (8am – 6pm) and a half day. You can add on extra sessions which are chargeable at our term time only rate. Extra sessions are limited.
30 hours
Term Time only places using 30 hours can be accessed using 3 full days between 8am – 6pm only. You can add on extra days which are chargeable at our term time only rate. Extra sessions are limited
All year around (51 Weeks) places using funding
Nursery can be accessed for the full opening hours of 7.15am – 6.30pm (11.25 hours a day). 15 hours (Minimum of 2 days for 0-2 year olds and 3 days for 3-4 year olds) Although nursery only receives funding for 38 weeks a year we offer 15 hours free to parents for the full 51 weeks if they are accessing nursery all year around. Parents then pay for extra sessions e.g 1 half day if child is in nursery 2 days a week. Example of how funding is used over 3 days:
Day 1 – 10 hours free (1.25 additional hours payable)
Day 2 – 5 hours free (6.25 additional hours payable)
Day 3 – 11.25 hours payable
Total payable – 18.75 hours. Rather than charge parents at an hourly rate for this which would be £187.50 we charge for a day and a half which
is £130.00
30 hours
Minimum of 3 days for all age groups. Nursery receives 30 hours funding for 38 weeks. This is stretched over 51 weeks and equates to 22.35 hours (approximately 2 days - nursery is open 11.25 hours a day) Parents then pay for extra days. Example of how funding is used over 3 days:
Day 1 – 10 hours free (1.25 additional hours payable)
Day 2 – 10 hours free (1.25 additional hours payable)
Day 3 – 2.35 hours free (8.9 additional hours payable)
Total payable – 11.4 hours. Rather than charge parents at an hourly rate for this which would be £114 we charge this at a daily rate of £78.00
