First Steps Nursery opened in 1999 and is situated in purpose built premises in the Pennington area of Leigh, Lancashire.

The nursery is open Monday – Friday from 7:30am – 6:00pm. We also have another purpose built nursery situated within Lowton also called First Steps Nursery. This nursery opens Monday – Friday from 7:15am – 6:30pm. Both nurseries have been thoughtfully designed to provide full day care for babies and young children, offering safe and secure enclosed indoor and outdoor play areas.

At First Steps Nursery we have highly trained, enthusiastic and friendly staff that provide a stimulating and loving environment for children, giving your child the best start in life. Each child is nurtured to build confidence and a love of learning, helping them reach their full potential and prepare them for their future.

First Steps Nursery provides a stimulating atmosphere to encourage your child’s development. Our aim is to provide a happy, stimulating and safe environment where children from 6 weeks – 5 years old and endeavour to meet their individual needs. We are passionate about quality Early Years Care and Education. We believe that children learn through play.

First Steps Nursery at Pennington is a purpose built nursery with 3 age-specific rooms: a Tinies room, Early Learning room and a Pre School room. As well as these rooms the children also have access to spacious play areas.

Children have continuous access to the separate outdoor spacious areas from the age of 6 weeks with a range of age appropriate outdoor equipment ranging from push along bikes and cars to climbing frames.
