These places are available for 38 weeks during the year (terms are dictated by nursery).
 

The Pre School room is open 51 weeks a year and children can access an all year around place where the funding is spread out.

Within our Pre School room we follow The Early Years Foundation Stage is the same curriculum that children follow from birth to 5 years old. This follows your child through to the end of their Reception Year at school.

Through fun and simulating monthly topics we cover the 7 areas of learning to cover;

• Physical Development

• Literacy development

• Mathematical development

• Understanding the World

• Expressive Art and Design

Our Pre School room has many exciting themed area to promote the children’s interests. The children are able to explore these different themed areas and have the opportunity to learn at every turn, including early reading and maths skills, mark-making, imaginative play and ICT .    The balance of teaching and play and a rich learning environment means children are equipped with everything they need to build all the characteristics of effective learning to help them through school.

Our focus is learning through play, constructing knowledge through doing and discussing their ideas. To make this possible practitioners provide extensive resources, and opportunities to challenge and expand children’s existing knowledge identified through observations.

Within the Pre School Room we provide the children with experiences and support which helps them to develop a positive sense of themselves, respect for others, social skills and a positive disposition to learn. Our practitioners work closely with the children to develop their independence and get them ready for their steps in life.
